Begin with versatile tutor Noelle Stynes. Give her a group of keen students (who already have some art experience). Add a handful of paint brushes, palette knives and media. Toss in acrylic paint tubes, canvas, rags, etc. Expect a generous amount of fun and laughter. From this pressure cooker look forward to seeing paintings of landscapes, painting demonstrations, colour theory explored and portraits explained (from your photo references or mine). Open to students with some experience, 16 years and over. Phone: 03 9583 3895, Fax: 03 9583 3195. Email: n_stynes@bigpond.com
Noelle Stynes studied design and fashion drawing with many of Melbourne’s best teachers at RMIT, and continued to enjoy over 20 years illustrating for a frantic world of retail advertising. Then the mysteries of oil painting beckoned and she was soon hooked on pastels and acrylics. Noelle has been awarded many prizes and undertaken numerous commissions. Blessed with a very supportive family, she played an integral role in starting the Brighton Art Society in 1979 and is still teaching acrylics there today, along with teaching at Mentone Mordialloc Art Group. She has also previously taught at Glen Eira Cheltenham Art Group. Along with these many achievements, Noelle has designed and illustrated two books for charity and is an exhibiting member of AGRA and the Pastel Society of Victoria.
