This workshop will focus on catching the impact of light and shade, and atmosphere in a fresh and exciting approach. All enthusiasts of watercolour will be encouraged to hone their skills and improve their knowledge using the medium spontaneously. The subjects will vary from landscape, seascape, cityscape and students are encouraged to bring some reference to cover these areas such as prints, sketches etc. Originality in approach will be encouraged as will the approach to working freely and comfortable. The atmosphere will be friendly and open to question and idea sharing. All who love the freshness and beauty of this magical medium will feel the benefit of working together and completing their works with outstanding results. Open to allcomers, 12 years and over.
David Taylor is an artist of international repute. His career has been full of colour and magic. His early years of training in colour etching were valuable experiences in his journey which led to his fascination with painting. David has won many notable awards both in Australia and overseas. His work is part of a collection of works in the Guernsey Museum in Guernsey in the Channel Islands and also is included in the Sister City Newcastle on Tyne in the UK. He has held exhibitions in Sweden, England, Channel Islands and is represented in Many other notable collections worldwide. David’s book co-written with Ron Ransom, titled “Solving the Mystery of Watercolour” and his DVD have assisted many others in their search and journey in watercolour painting. He has won on several occasions the coveted Gold Medal Awards at Camberwell Rotary and his awards have been numerous with well over 100 awards, including in 2009, the Kenneth Jack Memorial Medal Award – a very high honour. And also the Maritime Art Award (Victoria Artists Society). He regularly tutors overseas in the United States and Europe and has regular exyhibitions annually.
