There are always unexpected problems that arise. This workshop will ease you through and help you to plan, develop and create final works. No more upsets or artistic tantrums – we hope! Explore watercolours and acrylics, choose your favourite medium and then concentrate on that medium while observing other students, who have already made their choice. Each day the tutor will demonstrate an understanding of techniques for you to follow along with the chosen subject for the day. Subjects covered will be landscapes, seascapes and still life (you may bring photos of these subjects – preferably your own). You will learn composition, the colour-wheel and tone and how to develop your painting from simple geometric shapes. By enrolling in this workshop you will be taught by a tutor who is renowned for her ability to teach and nurture the beginners or those lacking the confidence to go forward. The first stop through the door is the hardest – come learn and enjoy. Open to beginners and students with some experience, 18 years and over. Heather Bell has had over 40 one-woman exhibitions, numerous overseas art shows, and her art is held in public and private collections. Her interest is in the country landscapes (especially the shearing sheds) for which she is well known. Heather has now lived on the Gold Coast for over 20 years and has been in demand for conducting workshops for beginners and advanced artists. Different climates, landscapes and people have added to Heather’s knowledge and enjoyment. Well known for watercolour and a past invited member of the AWI Heather now also paints in acrylics.
