16. ACRYLIC STILL LIFE, PORTRAITURE AND LANDSCAPE

Pamela Griffith

Two days of still life, two days of portraiture and two days of street scenes, on location in the old section of Grafton, makes for an action packed week. You will learn how to master many of the techniques of acrylic painting, as your highly experienced tutor will demonstrate as you go along. You will be helped with composition and colour theory as well as how to begin and follow through with an idea. The mysteries of the various mediums used in acrylic painting will be taught so that you can enhance your paintings. The tutor tries to give individual attention to each student in the workshop with the idea to bring out each student’s personal best.  Everyone will produce at least three pictures. The Models’ Fee will be advised upon enrolment. Open to allcomers, 16 years and over. www.pamelagriffith.com

Pamela Griffith is well qualified to teach acrylic painting, as she has been very successful in this medium. Examples of her work are published widely and she has completed many prestigious commissions including portraits of famous Australians. Her book “Australia, An Artists Journey Through The Landscape” successfully illustrates her love for unusual and revealing images of Australia. Her landscapes have been given on behalf of the Australian people to dignitaries and presidents  at the highest diplomatic level. Her still life paintings are very original in approach and are in constant demand by her collectors. She has work in major private and public collections including the national Gallery, Canberra. Her particular interest is printmaking and she has successfully run the Griffith Studio and Graphic Workshop for over thirty years; many well known artists have had their prints made in this workshop. Pamela has taught in high schools, technical colleges and universities over a long career in the arts and is expert at communicating skills and ideas.
